Rika is a quiet girl. She has beautiful auburn hair that frames her face along with brown eyes, and she is almost always smiling. She is usually cheerful, but in a more quiet and reserved kind of way. If she's anything, she is definitely not childish; Rika is a very mature ten year old, probably as mature as they get. She's understanding, kind, and gentle. She doesn't question people's motives. If someone is in a tough situation and aren't sure how to react, she is able to cover it up and save the person from embarrassment. She never prods information out of other people and pretty much minds her own business. In a nutshell, she's shy, modest, and very kind.
Sakura was once feeling down because Shaolan had insulted her card capturing ability, so Rika decided to take Sakura to a jewelry store after school so she could cheer her up. Tomoyo, Sakura, and Rika all bought brooches, and Rika's just happened to be in the shape of a sword. This led to another Clow Card- the brooch was actually the Sword. Whoever put the brooch on became possessed by it, and turned into an expert swordsman. Rika was no different, and she was taken over by the spell. The only way that Sakura finally got the sword away from Rika, breaking the spell off of her, was to use the Illusion card. The Illusion card showed Rika what was most important in her heart, and that was the silhouette of Terada-sensei. This is where Rika's love life comes in. Judging from her mature and adult-like personality, it's expected that Rika would fall in love with someone at her own maturity level. This person just happens to be the teacher of Sakura's class: Terada-sensei. Terada-sensei is a very kind person, and he cares for his students very much. However, Rika obviously has a crush on him, as she is always blushing around him, and sometimes during class, their eyes will meet and Terada-sensei will become flustered, while Rika would smile calmly. She becomes ecstatic when she learns that Terada-sensei is their homeroom teacher again in the second term of the year, and she presented Terada-sensei with her own hand-sewn teddy bear. Nobody else really notices this relationship between student and teacher except for Tomoyo. Just about all of Rika's other friends are completely oblivious to it, including Sakura. In the anime, the relationship really doesn't develop nearly as much as in the manga, where Terada-sensei and Rika get married once Rika graduates from school. In the anime, their relationship isn't nearly as dramatic. Rika is a very kind and mature girl, and she is a very pleasant person to be around. After that whole incident with the brooch and the Sword card, the brooch obviously disappeared. Sakura gave Rika another brooch that she got in replacement to the one that was lost, and realizing that Sakura was being nervous and was obviously hiding something that she wasn't supposed to tell other people about, Rika calmly accepted the brooch and didn't ask any further questions. Much to Sakura's surprise, Rika didn't put her on the spot, but just left her to take care of her problems by herself. I think everyone needs some like that around. :P |
